Helpful Information

Billing & Insurance

At this time, Little Waves Pediatric Therapy & Wellness is not in network with any insurance providers, which allows us to deliver therapy tailored to your child’s needs without the need for pre-approval or insurance delays.

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, debit/credit cards, and HSA/FSA cards. Upon request, we can also provide a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend you contact your insurance provider to check your out-of-network speech services before starting therapy.

NY State Funding

Little Waves Pediatric Therapy & Wellness is an approved NY CPSE (Committee on Preschool Special Education) provider for children 3-5 years old who already have an IEP (Individualized Education Program).

We are also in the process of applying to be an Early Intervention Provider in the state of New York, for children from birth to age 3. Contact us for more information!

  • Little Waves Pediatric Therapy & Wellness accepts clients from birth to 12 years old. If you have an older child who needs services, we can discuss this on a case-by-case basis.

  • Absolutely! Children who receive services in school are often evaluated and a treatment plan is formed based on how they perform academically and socially in the school environment. Private therapy can focus on functional needs for your child to perform optimally in their community with everyday tasks/activities such as breathing nasally, eating optimally, sleeping soundly, and communicating with confidence for optimal growth and development.

  • No, since Little Waves Pediatric Therapy & Wellness is a private pay practice, you do not need a referral. Referrals can sometimes be helpful from other providers but are not necessary. Please reach out via our contact form or schedule a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your child's concerns.

  • You know your child best beginning from infancy and beyond! You do not need to take a "wait and see approach.” If you have any concerns regarding your child's feeding/eating, sleeping, breathing, developmental milestones, or communication skills, please do not hesitate to reach out for support. Earlier is always better, and it is never too late to start!

  • A team approach and collaboration have the best outcomes in therapy. This allows for other disciplines to know what is going on, and we can work collaboratively to meet the child where they are as well as advance them in new skills.

  • Airway disorders are any limitations in airflow in the upper airway during the day or night. Children who have an airway disorder suffer from inappropriate cognitive and behavior development. 95% of children with airway disorders go undetected leading to lifelong health conditions. Adults can have airway disorders as well leading to increased risk of heart attack and stroke. Airway disorders can affect long term health and quality of life.
